In upcoming weeks, I’ll be working on a series of projects about Baldwin County, its history, quirks and other charms. Features in the works include:
- A local party to mark the end of tourist season that has become one of the country’s premiere seafood celebrations, attracting about 300,000 tourists.
- The Pine Knot Special, the train that built Baldwin County.
- A mysterious wooden ghost ship that reappears along the beach after dark and stormy nights.
- Baldwin County’s own version of Sasquatch, a legendary half-man, half-cat creature said to roam the woods of the Gulf State Park.
